Position Summary
We are seeking a senior Epic Analyst to join our product organization. This role is a split between hands-on Epic build and the strategy and design work behind our platform.
On the build side, you will do real configuration work: straight Epic build supporting our remote patient monitoring (RPM) line of business and our virtual nursing platform. On the strategy side, you will work upstream with product, engineering, and clinical leadership to answer the question we ask ourselves constantly: how do we make what is on our roadmap actually possible inside Epic, and what is the best workflow for the clinician on the other end of it?
The right person is a problem solver first. We want someone who treats “Epic doesn’t do that” as the beginning of a conversation rather than the end of one. You will bring deep, broad Epic expertise, a strong point of view on clinical workflow, and the creativity to find paths through constraints that other analysts stop at. A Registered Nurse (RN) background is strongly preferred so that the workflows you design are grounded in what frontline caregivers actually experience.
You will join a small, senior product team and report to the Chief Product Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Epic Build
• Design, build, testing, and deployment of Epic configuration supporting our RPM line of business, including integration of RPM data into Epic clinical workflows.
• Build the Epic-side configuration for virtual nursing platform capabilities as they move from concept into production.
• Support and maintain existing client Epic builds, including troubleshooting, upgrades, testing, and optimization.
• Develop and maintain technical and workflow documentation, configuration settings, and end-user training materials.
• Partner with health system Epic analysts and participate in customer change control and governance processes as needed.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular validation and quality assurance, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data security standards.
Platform Integration —
• Partner with product and engineering to determine how roadmap features can be delivered within and around Epic, including where standard build ends and creative solutioning begins.
• Translate product concepts into Epic design options, and translate Epic constraints back into product requirements engineering can act on.
• Serve as the Epic subject matter expert in design sessions, technical sessions, and discovery work with internal teams and delivery partners.
• Help define the Epic-facing architecture of our platform, including how clinical data, orders, documentation, and events move between Epic and the Nexus platform.
• Bring clinical judgment to design decisions and advocate for the patient and frontline caregiver in product tradeoffs.
• Support virtual nursing and virtual sitting workflows and their integration with Epic.
Qualifications
Required
• Active Epic certification in at least two applications, including at least one core inpatient clinical application (EpicCare Inpatient ClinDoc and/or Orders).
• 5+ years of hands-on Epic analyst experience in an inpatient environment.
• Demonstrated experience designing and building Epic workflows end to end, not only supporting existing configuration.
• Evidence of creative problem solving within Epic — examples of solutions you found where the standard approach did not fit.
• Strong understanding of healthcare industry standards, HIPAA regulations, and data security.
• Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in ambiguity.
• Effective communication and collaboration across clinical, product, and engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare informatics, IT, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
Strongly preferred
• Epic Compass Rose certification. This one is of particular interest to us, and we would like to hear from you if you hold it.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with inpatient clinical experience.
• Epic certification in one or more of: Bridges/Interfaces, Cogito, Clarity, ADT, EpicCare Inpatient Orders, or ASAP.
• Experience with Epic interface and integration work, including HL7 and FHIR.
• Experience building reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in Epic and in tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Additional certifications that are a plus
• EpicCare Ambulatory, MyChart, Healthy Planet, Beaker, Bugsy, Rover, Haiku, or Canto.
We do not expect any one candidate to hold every certification listed above. Breadth across Epic and a willingness to certify in new applications matter more to us than any specific credential, and we will support you in earning additional certifications in this role.
Preferred experience
• Prior work on a product or vendor side of healthcare technology, not only within a health system.
• Experience with virtual nursing, virtual care, or remote patient monitoring programs.
• Project management experience.
What We Offer
• Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
• Support for professional development, new Epic certifications, and certification renewals.
• A small, senior team with real influence over what gets built.
• A collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on improving healthcare outcomes.
Location and On-Site Expectations
This role is based in our Cleveland, Ohio office, on-site five days per week. Much of the work is collaborative design and problem solving alongside product, engineering, and clinical leadership, and we have found that happens best in the same room.
Local candidates are strongly preferred. We will consider exceptional candidates outside the Cleveland area, with the expectation of working on-site in Cleveland one week per month.
Occasional additional travel for customer workshops, design sessions, and go-live support may be required.
