JOB SUMMARY
The Environmental Specialist IV serves as a technical resource to the Exploration team by providing guidance and assistance to the field and coordinating programs to validate compliance with environmental regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Serves as a technical resource to the Exploration team by providing guidance and assistance to the field and coordinating programs to validate compliance with environmental regulations related to waste disposal and material reuse, waste minimization, wildlife, land, water quality, water use, spill reporting and prevention, and other related field environmental issues as required.
- Identifying environmental risks, issues, and mitigation strategies, and communicating with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE).
- Assessing field activities by conducting onsite audits and site visits to validate environmental compliance.
- Representing the Client during agency inspections.
- Maintaining contacts and working relationships with local, state, and federal agency personnel.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience in Alaska environmental compliance (spills, waste, water use, drinking water, land issues, permitting, field monitoring/study design, wildlife, remediation)
