Job Description
The Environmental Services Department plays a vital role in ensuring that the hospital remains clean and safe for patients, staff, and visitors. As a member of this team, the main duties will be to clean and sanitize all areas of the hospital including patient rooms, offices, waiting areas, and meeting rooms.
Job Description:
Clean, disinfect, and maintain patient rooms, common areas, and assigned equipment according to healthcare and infection prevention standards.
Perform occupied, discharge, and transfer room cleaning to support patient safety and timely room turnover.
Follow all infection prevention, safety, and PPE protocols while properly handling waste and hazardous materials.
Maintain cleaning equipment, carts, and supplies in accordance with department standards.
Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Assist with training and mentoring new EVS team members as assigned.
Complete required documentation accurately and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Attend department meetings, huddles, and team activities to support patient experience and operational excellence.
Perform specialty cleaning and other Environmental Services duties as assigned.
