Environmental Remediation Engineer

Job Duties

Antea USA, Inc. (AnteaGroup) is seeking an Environmental Remediation Engineer Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to be associated with our office in Rancho Cordova, CA.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support on environmental remediation and SPCC projects from start to finish, including conducting site investigations, developing remediation plans and feasibility studies, designing remediation systems and approaches, overseeing remediation activities including operation and maintenance of systems, certifying SPCC plans and reporting results to clients and regulatory agencies. Demonstrated success in leading various remedial technologies is required.

Where Will I Work?

This position will be based out of our office in Rancho Cordova, CA with the flexibility to work remotely as assignments allow. In this hybrid work environment, it is expected that this position report to the office periodically and/or as requested for in-person meetings, mentorship, and leadership and collaboration with other team members. Although minimal, some project work could require local, regional, and/or overnight travel for large project kick-offs or as required for emergency response.

Essential Functions Include but Are Not Limited to:

Provide engineering support during site investigations to assess the extent of contamination.

Develop remediation plans that meet client and regulatory requirements.

Prepare feasibility studies on selected remedial technologies.

Oversee remediation activities, including in-situ soil and groundwater treatment, and vapor mitigation.

Design remediation systems and other remedial cleanup alternatives.

Review operation and maintenance data to increase efficiency of existing systems.

Manage project budgets and schedules and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors to ensure that project goals are met.

Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.

Review and certification of SPCC plans.

Education and Training

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Professional Engineering (PE) certification in CA is required.

California Professional geologist certification would be a plus.

Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental remediation projects.

40-Hour HAZWOPER training is required (and can be provided for the right candidate).

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification a plus.

Qualifications

Ability to coach and mentor EITs and inexperienced engineers.

Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations related to environmental remediation.

Experience with site investigations, remediation design and implementation of remedial technologies.

Experience with SPCC Plans.

Excellent communication and project management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Potential employees must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, pre-employment drug screening (as permitted by law), and baseline physical (safety sensitive roles). Physical Requirements / Work Environment - Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:

Sedentary to light work (typical office or administrative work).

Frequently required to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time.

Occasional lifting and carrying of low (under 25lbs) to moderate (25-49lbs) weight objects.

Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (including reaching).

Subject to environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change).

Operation of a motor vehicle.

Additionally, if you are completing client meetings or client project site visits you will need to complete a medical surveillance/fitness-for-duty examination and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:

Medium to heavy work.

Subject to outside environmental conditions: heat/cold, wind, wet and/or humid, etc.

Occasional stooping (bending body downward and forward), kneeling (bending legs at knee), crouching (bending body downward and forward) and climbing.

Frequent lifting (including push/pull, hold/carry) of light, moderate and possibly heavy weight objects.

Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, including but not limited to: proximity to moving vehicles, parts or equipment; exposure to chemicals; pressure (including noise); electrical hazards; biological hazards; excavation/trenching; confined spaces; elevated work; materials handling.

May be required to wear an air purifying respirator.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $160,000. Compensation will vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge and skills, education, and work experience.
