Purpose of Position: The Project Environmental Engineer ensures sustainability and resilience of infrastructure through large-scale testing, field studies, and numerical simulations. This position works between the natural elements and built environments and would address environmental issues such as waste disposal, soil improvements, site remediation, waste handling, and permitting and regulatory coordination. This position also provides materials testing and construction inspection as needed.
nEssential Functions
nPrepare and deliver Phase I ESAs
nPrepare and deliver Phase II ESAs
nField investigations consisting of:
nConstruction monitoring including instrumentation
nSoil and groundwater sampling
nAsbestos and Lead-based Paint Assessments
nRemediation system monitoring and reporting
nConduct/direct measurements and sample collection including documentation of field tasks, data tabulation, and report preparation.
nCoordinate subcontractor work including scheduling of field activities and procurement of bids
nMake engineering calculations using standard formulas and computer software.
nProvide construction inspection and materials testing as needed.
nPhysical Demands of Position
nWhile performing the duties of this position the employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level to be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs and perform some physical labor
nEnvironmental/Working Conditions This position will split his/her time between the administrative office and working in the field. It may require traveling up to 50% of the time.

nJob Specifications
nAccredited degrees in either:
nBS Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Geotechnical)
nBS Geology
n2 to 4 years of experience in the field or related field
nWisconsin and Illinois regulatory consulting experience a plus.
nProfessional credentials or ability to obtain professional credentials within 1-2 years preferred
nExcellent written and verbal communications skills
nExperience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat required
