Compliance SpecialistAPTIM is currently seeking a Compliance Specialist in California for our Solid Waste Services Group in the Concord CA area to support our exciting portfolio of projects. At APTIM, you can expect countless opportunities to learn, develop business and leadership skills, and engage on a multitude of projects.Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Leading and completing regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and special studiesLead the development, implementation, and management of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans for industrial projectsConduct compliance monitoring, site inspections, and enforcement of SWPPP and SPCC requirementsPrepare environmental reports, plans, and permit applications across water, waste, air, and stormwater programsAssist in developing monitoring, training, testing, record-keeping, and reporting protocolsAbility to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing prioritiesPerform groundwater, leachate, stormwater and landfill gas sampling and testingCoordination to prepare sampling paperwork and bottle orders for sampling eventsConduct construction quality assurance oversightTravel to project sites for inspections, audits, and client meetings as neededPreparing and managing, scopes, budgets and schedulesCollaborating and coordinating with contractors, clients, and other team membersBasic Qualifications:Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP)BS/MS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field4-10 years of compliance experienceStrong knowledge of stormwater regulations (industrial) and broader environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste, SPCC, air permitting, and wastewaterAbility to work on multidisciplinary projectsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in a team environmentSelf-starter and problem solverExcellent organizational skillsAbility to wear proper PPE for workPossess a "Safety First" work etPreferred Qualifications:Solid Waste ExperienceLicensed State of California Professional Geologist or EngineerPrevious experience working with the California State Water Resources Control BoardPossession of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificateAbout APTIMAPTIM enhances the quality of the environment, wellbeing of people, resilience of communities, and opportunity for employees to make a difference, not just a living.
