About the Role
Join a regulatory and environmental team at a venture-backed environmental planning technology company, helping support energy and infrastructure projects across the United States. This hands-on role combines environmental expertise, quality assurance, and product feedback to improve the accuracy of AI-supported planning and permitting work.
What You'll Do
- Review environmental analyses, permit assessments, and critical issues screens to ensure findings are accurate, well-cited, and ready for customers.
- Research unresolved environmental and permitting questions using authoritative regulatory, agency, and planning sources across local, state, and federal jurisdictions.
- Evaluate AI-generated findings and correct unsupported, incomplete, or misleading conclusions.
- Contribute regulatory expertise to databases and product logic by writing prompts, updating rules, and scoping improvements with engineering.
- Assess real energy and infrastructure sites for environmental, land-use, and permitting risks as part of due diligence and development work.
What We're Looking For
- Two to five years of experience in environmental planning, permitting, regulatory analysis, or a related field.
- Experience researching environmental requirements and reviewing project analyses for accuracy and quality.
- Comfort working with GIS, geospatial data platforms, Excel, AI tools, and environmental regulatory databases.
- Strong written research skills and the ability to translate subject matter knowledge into clear findings and product improvements.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is $120,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, California.
