Seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in the solid waste industry, site design, and land development. The ideal candidate will have advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D skills and 2-3+ years of hands-on experience supporting civil site design projects, including commercial developments, shopping centers, landfills, and landfill expansion/closure projects.
This role offers the opportunity to manage critical infrastructure projects from design through construction while partnering directly with clients and project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
- 2-3+ years of civil site design experience
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience supporting landfill, land development, or site design projects
- Strong project coordination and client-facing communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed engineering drawings and designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Lead civil site design efforts for landfill expansions, closures, and land development projects
- Coordinate permitting activities, subcontractors, and regulatory approvals
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Assist with project management, scheduling, and resource planning
- Perform technical analyses including:
- Cut/fill calculations
- Stormwater management design
- Waste sizing evaluations
- Support construction oversight and field activities as needed
Day-to-Day
- Manage assigned projects and serve as a key point of contact for clients
- Partner closely with Project Managers and engineering teams to deliver project milestones
- Prepare site designs, calculations, and permitting documents
- Conduct site visits and field inspections (approximately 20% travel)
- Provide construction-phase support and troubleshoot field issues
- Collaborate with clients to develop tailored solutions that meet project and regulatory requirements
