Environmental Monitoring TechniciansRate: $49.50/HR on W2Location: 2778 South East Side Highway, Elkton, VA 22827QualificationsEducation: B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or related sciences is required.Experience Required:Capable of working alone, and managing workload that is directedComputer skills are required, should be proficient in standard laboratory techniques and laboratory data management systemsPreferred Skills:Lab data management systemsMicrobiology and aseptic technique is advantageous and training will be providedcGMPPrevious laboratory workRole requires the ability to read and write in the English languageWork Schedule12 hour rotating shift; days and nights (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am). IMPORTANT: Expected to work in an environment with potential beta-lactam antibiotic exposureResponsibilitiesCollecting environmental monitoring samples (viable surface/air and non-viable air) of process areasEnvironmental monitoring plate readsGowning training and certificationsMicrobiological and chemical sampling of process waterClean steam and compressed gas sampling and testingData management activitiesFacilities qualification testingAssisting with protocol testing as neededPrepping and maintenance of all supplies and equipmentUtilizing standard operating procedures to perform their work and making updates to those procedures when necessary in alignment with management
