Georgia-Pacific’s Anchor Packaging Operations is seeking a qualified professional for our Environmental Manager role supporting our facilities located in Jonesboro, Paragould, and Marmaduke, Arkansas. This role will be based at one of the assigned manufacturing facilities.
The Environmental Manager will partner with front‑line leadership and collaborate with business partners to develop and advance our Environmental and Stewardship program. They will be the key leader and mentor for the production team relating to Environmental Compliance and Stewardship. Additionally, the Environmental Manager establishes and optimizes systems and processes to effectively address the Environmental risk profile.
The Environmental Manager reports directly to the Regional Environmental Manager and has a critical role on the Anchor’s NE Arkansas leadership team. In this role you will work closely with management and employees to promote Environmental compliance and Stewardship consistent with our Principle‑Based culture.
What You Will Do
- Provide influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle‑Based Management (PBM) culture and dispersed compliance ownership within the organization.
- Partner with site leadership to influence all team members to embrace and achieve our Path to Zero Significant Environmental incidents consistent with Koch’s Environmental Vision.
- Lead essential Environmental programs and strategic environmental planning including but not limited to managing air, water, and waste permit requirements, regulatory obligations and environmental risks.
- Effectively communicate Environmental vision, strategies, and performance to internal and external stakeholders, clearly sharing issues, priorities and successes.
- Partner with each site leader to ensure facility risk profile is managed and proactively reduced through development and implementation of key objectives, strategies, targets and measures.
- Support facility and department level risk assessments and Improvement Plan development; assist in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing corrective actions to reduce risk.
- Foster an environment where employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding Environmental Compliance, ensuring the Environmental Vision is developed and integrated in daily operations.
- Facilitate Environmental ownership by the line organization through integration of the Environmental Management System and dispersed ownership.
- Drive systematic continuous improvement using tools and activities, including self‑assessments and audit processes; metrics and targets (leading and lagging indicators); and periodic reviews of performance, culture and talent.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Environmental experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience applying effective environmental management systems.
- Experience developing regulatory compliance programs and training.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in an Environmental or EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience managing Environmental programs and working knowledge of ADEQ regulations and compliance.
- Demonstrated Leadership Experience.
