Environmental Litigation AssociateDirect Counsel is seeking an Environmental Litigation Associate to join a premier Environmental Litigation and Mass Tort practice in Washington, D.C. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated environmental enforcement actions, regulatory disputes, and high-profile litigation matters involving complex federal environmental laws and regulations.The ideal candidate will have experience handling environmental litigation matters, a strong understanding of environmental and administrative law, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and government enforcement actions.ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in environmental litigation and regulatory enforcement mattersAdvise clients regarding: Federal environmental compliance, Government investigations, Regulatory enforcement actions, Administrative law issues, Environmental risk managementAnalyze complex federal environmental statutes, regulations, and enforcement frameworksDraft: Motions, Briefs, Legal memoranda, Regulatory submissions, Enforcement responsesConduct legal research and factual investigationsAssist clients in responding to agency inquiries and enforcement proceedingsWork closely with technical experts, consultants, and client stakeholdersManage litigation and regulatory projects with increasing independence and client responsibilityParticipate in all phases of litigation, administrative proceedings, and settlement negotiationsQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law schoolLaw school class years 2019–2023Experience with environmental litigation matters, preferably at the federal levelStrong understanding of Environmental law, Administrative law, Federal regulatory frameworks, Government enforcement processesAbility to analyze complex and technical regulatory schemesExcellent legal research, writing, and analytical skillsStrong project management and organizational abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage matters with minimal supervisionOutstanding academic credentialsPreferred ExperienceGovernment-side enforcement experienceExperience with federal environmental agenciesExperience working with the U.S.
