Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

SummaryA well-established food manufacturing company is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support workplace safety, environmental compliance, and employee health initiatives. This is a direct hire 1st shift position with pay at $60k. This role focuses on regulatory compliance, safety training, hazard prevention, incident investigation, and continuous improvement of safety programs within a production environment.
Responsibilities:Coordinate and enforce environmental, health, and safety programs and policies.
Deliver employee safety training and ensure OSHA compliance.
Conduct safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
Manage industrial hygiene, waste handling, workers' compensation, and DOT compliance programs.
Maintain safety records, regulatory reporting, and employee training documentation.
Analyze safety data and implement corrective actions to reduce risk and improve performance.
Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and communication initiatives.
Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Industrial Health and Safety, or related field preferred.
3-5 years of environmental health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety training, audits, and compliance programs.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Food manufacturing experience is a plus.
