Virtual Test EngineerMust have knowledge of hybrid powertrain configurations and full EV configurations and/or components including high voltage battery packs, DC/DC converters, on-board chargers, and electric motors.Job Summary: Lab vehicle and HIL simulation open loop commissioning. Lab vehicle, HIL integrations (vehicle parts, PC setup etc.) commissioning: HILs, ECU, load devices- power, gnd, communications, FIU & RCA etc. Test property basic functional test check outs and control desk function check out. HIL bench fabrication for PFDI, & SWx groups.

Complete setup and commissioning. Coordinate and engineering support to PFDI HIL benches – EPS, ADAS, BSM, failover integration etc. Stress test implementation @ HIL envi.The virtual test engineer is responsible for delivering a stable and representative test environment to perform automated testing and functional integration of distributed features. This engineer should be capable of working with various engineering support teams including systems, wiring, design release engineers, and software teams as required to validate electrical features on the bench and resolve any electrical issues before it gets to production to support successful vehicle launch.Responsibilities include:Identify system boundaries and define requirements for simulator I/O, instrumentation, and automation solutionsDefine test scope and instrumentation strategiesCollaborate with core engineers, suppliers, feature experts, and test engineers to design, implement, and troubleshoot instrumentation as requiredReview component level electrical schematics and functional specifications and translate the requirements into hardware and signal requirements for virtual implementationValidate and troubleshoot simulator and maintain test benchesTroubleshoot vehicle systems and test environment functionality to minimize false positive incident reportsExperience: 1 to 5 years.

Basic qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer ScienceRelevant automotive experienceKnowledge of CAN based communication and diagnostic toolsProficiency in the understanding of embedded controller networks (CAN, LIN)Preferred qualifications:Familiarity with development and verification of plant and control models in Matlab/Simulink for execution in hardware in the loop test environmentsExperience with dSpace hardware architecture, design, setup, and troubleshootingBench functional integration, test execution, measuring, and instrumentation experienceRoles and responsibilities:HIL bench scope analysis (all programs including C/Os) & alignmentHIL development plans (HW/SW upgrades etc.) & HIL stim test coordinationECU scope and device transmittal analysis & team reviews (variant configuration)Vehicle system documentation reviews (VFs, HWI, DBC - multiple iterations @ step 3, 5, 1A, 2A…)Modeling/framework/panel development (multiple iterations step 3, 5, 1A, 2A…)HIL documentation preparation (IOs, signal list, wiring layout, MTB/LTB design etc.)Lab vehicle fabrication – engineering support (to EE lab & external suppliers)Material procurement (lab vehicle and vehicle connector/terminals/cables etc.)Job location: primary location: Auburn Hills - MI USA.
