Entry Level Threadroll Machinist (2nd Shift)

Carson Operations Threadroll MachinistCarson Operations is seeking an entry-level Threadroll Machinist. This position is responsible for operating thread rolling equipment used to manufacture aerospace fasteners in accordance with work instructions, specifications and quality requirements. This position is designed for individuals with mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn machining and thread rolling processes.

Training will be provided on equipment operation, inspection requirements, tooling and manufacturing procedures.Key Responsibilities:Perform threadroll operations on threaded pin product Waterbury, Saspi and Hartford thread rollersLearn basic machine setup, tooling changes, and adjustments under the guidance of experienced machinists or Lead operatorComplete production documentation, inspection reports using basic measuring and inspection equipmentPerform in-cell wash, tumble, flat roll operations and run fillet roll machines as requiredConduct 1st Article and in-process inspections, use gages to measure critical thread roll dimensions, input SPC data into computerAbility to perform visual inspection under microscope and detect issues resulting from thread rolling process to prevent rejects / PDRsAbility to follow the 3-pan systemPerform Lock/Out Tag/Out (LOTO)Participate in training and cross training to develop proficiency in thread rolling operationsPerform dimensional inspection using QC gages and compare results to specificationsCheck parts visually under microscope, sort parts, etc.Follow all EHS Policies and Safety Procedures. Report all incidents immediatelyPerform other manufacturing duties as assignedPhysical Demands:Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS policies)Must be able to stand for long periods of timeBasic Requirements:6 months experience operating machineryAbility to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, decimals, and fractions.Ability to read and follow written work instructionsEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
