Working in the Command Center of a large multinational bank, the contracted Entry Level Mainframe Technician will manage mainframe availability, utilizing virtual connectivity tools while adhering to security and operational policies, with a shift structure of 12 hours in-office during the week and remote on Saturdays. Key responsibilities Monitor and ensure the availability of mainframe systems in a 24X7 environment Utilize virtual connectivity techniques to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders Exercise privileged Mainframe access while adhering to strict security protocols Required qualifications Knowledge of IBM Z Mainframe and z/OS or OS/390 operations Familiarity with JCL and batch problem diagnostic skills Understanding of data transfer protocols such as NDM and FTP Availability to work the required shift schedule, including Saturdays Willingness to undergo extensive training provided by the company
