Associate Attorney (Entry-Level)
About the Firm
Coffey Law Group, P.C. is a growing Midtown Manhattan law firm focused on real estate transactions, litigation, and trusts & estates. We represent individuals, families, and businesses in residential and commercial closings, co-op and condo transactions, landlord-tenant and Housing Court matters, and estate planning and administration. We’re a small team, so associates get real responsibility, direct client contact, and hands-on mentorship from the partners from day one.
The Role
This is a full-time, on-site position at our office at 155 East 55th Street. Working under partner supervision, you will:
- Draft and review contracts, closing documents, and correspondence
- Conduct due diligence for residential and co-op/condo purchases and sales, including reviewing building financials, offering plans, and board minutes
- Prepare due diligence memoranda, legal research memos, pleadings, and motion papers
- Assist with Housing Court and other litigation matters, including court appearances as you develop
- Help prepare estate planning documents and Surrogate’s Court filings
- Manage case files and deadlines, and coordinate with brokers, lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel
- Attend client meetings and closings
What We’re Looking For
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admitted to the New York State Bar, or awaiting admission or results. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- A genuine interest in real estate law; relevant coursework, clinics, internships, or law clerk experience is a plus
- Strong writing and research skills, with clear, accurate, well-organized work product
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple matters and deadlines
- Professional, responsive communication with clients and colleagues
- Comfort with standard office technology; experience with Clio or similar practice-management software is a plus
- Reliability, integrity, and a desire to learn and grow with the firm
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 – $70,000 per year, depending on qualifications and bar admission status
