Enterprise Systems EngineerThe Aerospace Corporation is hiring an Enterprise Systems Engineer for the Portfolio Analysis Department (PAD) in the Enterprise Effects Division (EED). This is an onsite opportunity in Chantilly, Virginia. The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a wide-ranging and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities. As part of the Enterprise Design Subdivision (EDS), the Portfolio Analysis Department (PAD) drives responsive and comprehensive trades in customer portfolios. Working closely with corporate program offices PAD delivers portfolio decision insights that expand options for senior leaders and accelerates delivery of end effects. PAD integrates expertise, system analysis and design capabilities from across the corporation.We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Systems Engineer to support a variety east coast Intelligence Community customers. This position will be required to work full-time on-site at Aerospace's Chantilly, VA location.What You'll Be DoingProvide enterprise engineering and analytical support to government intelligence community customers in portfolio management, digital engineering, and system-of-systems engineeringEngage directly with Aerospace program office personnel as well as government customersSupport the deployment or implementation of existing tools, models, and frameworksIdentify new capabilities and enhancements that will better support the customer programs and architecturesInitiate studies designed to solve complex problems and provide new and innovative technical solutionsTake initiative to inform management of perceived technical problems and recommend courses of actionUtilize Aerospace resources, teams, and expertise on the effective use of MBSE methodologies, modeling languages, and toolsInitiate and lead studies designed to solve technical problems to provide recommendations to the customerLeverage Aerospace's technical backplane to provide tailored, technical support and innovative solutions for customer-specific use casesProvide ongoing technical consultation and advice to management, customers, and contractorsProvide mentoring and oversight to early career staff, as necessaryOccasional travel may be requiredWhat You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements for the Engineering Specialist - Enterprise Systems EngineeringBachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, science, or other related technical disciplineMinimum of 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in systems engineering or other space-related engineering disciplinesProficient with MBSE modeling languages such as System Modeling Language (SysML) and tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler and SparX Enterprise ArchitectureExperience with architecture frameworks such as the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) or the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)Take initiative, have flexibility, and be able to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal skills and well adept at oral and written communicationExcellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projectsAvailable and willing to travel domestically, approx. 5-10%Active TS//SCI security clearance with CI polygraphIn addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Senior Engineering Specialist - Enterprise Systems Engineering include:Minimum of 12 years of increasingly responsible experience in systems engineering or other space-related engineering disciplinesLeadership experience in enterprise systems engineering, enterprise design and/or model-based systems engineeringDemonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with employees, customers, program offices, and contractorsDemonstrated ability to identify problem space, assess trade options, and independently formulate courses of actionExperience working with space system requirements documents such as CDDs and ICDsExperience initiating and leading cross-functional, cross-organizational teams to plan and execute projects or studiesHow You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, science, or other related technical disciplineDemonstrated leadership of broad multidisciplinary teams conducting technical evaluations of complex systems; cost, schedule and risk analysis; portfolio-level trade studies; and requirements developmentExperience with and/or working knowledge of the Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) span of technical capabilities and organizational constructExperience with Intelligence Community systems engineering and programmatic processes, methods, tools, and personnelExperience briefing senior Government leaders (General Officer and/or SES/SIS)We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.
