The Role at a Glance

  • Create and maintain strategies for various enterprise architectural capabilities (Integration, API, Digital Process Automation, e.g.).
  • Architect cloud‑native solutions using AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena, etc.) or similar technology to support risk analytics at scale.
  • Review designs for architectural soundness and adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Federated Architects, data scientists, risk managers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Mentor Federated Architects and influence technical standards and architecture decisions across application development teams.
  • Maintain current AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborate with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments into current and future solutions.
  • Direct and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Identify and direct the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department, and/or business unit for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provide direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Translate business strategies into a technology investment roadmap for their assigned business line.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams and serve as a subject‑matter expert to deliver and understand the complex technology roadmap for their assigned business line.
  • Understand complex business unit needs and how business strategy is taking LFG from a technology perspective and interpolate ways that systems can be used across the enterprise.
  • Define and maintain complex target technology architectures for the assigned business unit.
  • Have an advanced understanding of IT industry trends, enterprise standards, and methodology in the Insurance or Financial Services space.
  • Be knowledgeable of complex enterprise systems and applications, and be called upon to provide subject‑matter expertise in multiple areas, e.g., Java‑based architectures, data analytics, or mobile applications.
  • Influence technology solutions and technology investments that will deliver the business strategy.
  • Provide direction and guidance to scope and architect major technology change projects, lead strategic options analysis, propose end‑to‑end solutions, and highlight trade‑offs and risks.
  • Review evolving designs of major technology projects to identify strategic opportunities and resolve design issues during delivery.
  • Ensure IT projects align with strategic capabilities, target architectures, and technology standards.
  • Oversee the management of the application portfolio management system for the area(s) of responsibility.
  • Identify key technology enablers to optimize Lincoln’s IT investments, including new and innovative uses of emerging enterprise technology platforms.
  • Influence key IT vendors and partners.

What We're Looking For

4 year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)

5 – 7+ years of experience in Technology Architecture that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)

The pay range for this position is $126,900 - $180,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non‑discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency, and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit, and individual. Other rewards may include long‑term incentives, sales incentives, and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
