Enterprise Data/Information ArchitectRole: Enterprise Data/Information ArchitectLocation: Hybrid (Columbia, SC)Duration: Long-termClient: South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS)Scope of the work:Understand overall data management practices across the agency.Identify data-related business requirements and service standards.Develop high level enterprise data model and conceptual views of data architectures.Optimize overall data/information sharing and flow by reducing redundancy and enabling accessibility.Credentials and Experience:This role requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study (or equivalent project-related experience).A minimum of seven years of experience in IT, with at least two years in information system design.In-depth experience of designing and implementing information solutions.Hands-on experience implementing data and analytics management programs is preferred.System integration experience, including interface design, and familiarity with web-oriented architecture techniques.Data modeling and information classification expertise at the enterprise level.Experience with distributed management and analytics in cloud and hybrid environments.Also, an understanding of a variety of data access and analytic approaches (for example, microservices and event-based architectures).Three to five years' experience as a data analyst is highly desirable.Skills and Competencies:Business domain, data / content and process understanding (which are more important than technical skills).Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models.Understanding of metamodels, taxonomies and ontologies, as well as of the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modeling) to less-structured sources.Familiarity with data science concepts, as well as MDM, business intelligence, and data warehouse design and implementation techniques.Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis and design, and programming techniques.Ability to assess rapidly changing data management technologies and apply them to strategic information management and other business needs.Strong communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to create marketing and messaging materials that meet stakeholder needs.
