Agility Partners is seeking qualified applicants to fill an open Principal Enterprise Architect position. Reporting to the Head of Architecture, this role works closely with the Application Development, Infrastructure, Security, Data & Analytics, and PMO teams to provide overall architecture leadership. The Principal Enterprise Architect will leverage deep technology expertise in one of the five domains to build out the architecture vision, strategy, and capability roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level expertise on overall direction, guidance, definition, decisions, and priorities regarding the enterprise’s overall architecture to support business strategy
- Interact with business leaders, IT leaders, vendors, and industry experts to translate business requirements, evaluate capability options, and create architecture blueprints and high-level solution designs for complex components
- Act as a visionary to proactively assist in defining direction for future projects, helping leaders assess the technology, business, and operational impacts of investment decisions
- Review, advise, and design standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs versus benefits, and enterprise impact
- Serve as an architecture thought leader and trusted partner for product and engineering leadership, recommending innovative solutions to improve system architectures
- Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards and reference materials that guide technology solution design
- Lead architectural collaboration and governance processes including Architecture Review Boards, Solution Architecture reviews, and exception management
- Research, analyze, design, propose, and deliver solutions aligned with business and technology strategies
- Track industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies to support enterprise architecture needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of relevant enterprise-wide architecture experience, including Technology/Cloud domain technologies such as Azure compute products, Cisco, Docker, Equinix, Kubernetes, Microsoft solutions, Mulesoft, Palo Alto, ServiceNow, VMWare, and on-prem migrations to cloud
- Deep understanding of Technology/Cloud capabilities including APIs, automation, cloud services, compute, databases, development tools, end user computing & management, infrastructure as code, logging & monitoring, network segmentation (private & public), runtime environments, security, service operations, storage, and unified communications
- Deep knowledge of API-first design patterns
- Technology skills across multiple IT domains (application, data, infrastructure, security)
- Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and LeanIX
- Knowledge of TOGAF, ITIL, and other architecture/business process frameworks
- Experience in application development, systems management, and/or project management is a plus
