The responsibility of the Solutions Architect may include managing front-end platforms, servers, storage, and delivery and networks required to manage cloud storage and on-premise workstreams. The position will focus on establishing an enterprise roadmap for the maturing and migrating of enterprise systems from a parent Federal organization to Department resources which includes the policies, standards and practices, both at the department and Business and Functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.The Solutions Architect serves as the main subject matter expert for enterprise architecture design, governance, quality, and protection issues and will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership / stakeholders to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.Responsibilities:Responsible for creation and management of HSI System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC)/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documentationResponsible for the management of HSI’s Confluence Knowledge Management PagesParse existing documents and artifacts for key information and preferred language; to then be applied to new documentationEnsuring consistency with all documentation and messagingEstablish and govern an enterprise system governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities for the enterprise as well as migration of services.Work directly with stakeholders to comprehend solution problems and identify opportunitiesWork together with a team of application developers, engineers, and designers to deliver innovative technology solutions using on-premise, AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud servicesResponsible for collecting and defining technical requirements to enable business process and integrationsEstablish an approximate level-of-effort and staffing requirements for complex development projectsLead the team of engineers and IT specialists to design effective, efficient, scalable, and secure applications within the organization’s Cloud and on-premises software platformEnsure that solutions created by the development team stick to technical architecture standardsResponsible for writing and reviewing standards, code and also contributing to all technical discussions and architecture planningNote down and maintain clear documentation and standards for cloud operations in the organizationStay up-to-date on emerging technology trends and promote an environment of learningResponsible for monitoring the production environment and advance the obtainable monitoring setup as neededSustain performance and availability of production systems in the AWS or Azure Government and Commercial cloud infrastructures to achieve optimal uptime.Required Skills/Experience: 3-5 years of experience required in an IT development environment.2-3 years of experience writing System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC)/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documentationMinimum of 5 years of experience in a major services organization, with large-scale or project management and oversight experience.3+ years in a Solutions Architect role, with transformation leadership experience.Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practicesKnowledge of governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to cyber security and data protectionKnowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issuesDemonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system designKnowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutionsInternally and externally recognized subject matter expert that influence the way things are donePreferred Skills/Experience:LeadershipHighest personal and professional integrity and strong work ethicsAbility to articulate vision of transformation efforts and a sense of missionWillingness to take change and provide directionResults orientation, willingness to commit to a direction and drive operations to completionDemonstrated ability to manage adversity and challenging situationsRelationship ManagementAbility to manage senior relationships across all the Business and Functional areasAbility to develop cooperative and constructive working relationshipsAbility to handle complaints, settle disputes and resolve conflicts and negotiate with othersCollaborative team player orientation towards work relationships, strong culture awarenessProject Oversight and Decision-makingHighly developed skills in priority setting and alignment of project priorities with Departmental strategyAbility to break down complex problems and projects into manageable goalsAbility to get to the heart of the problem and make sound and timely decisions to resolve problemsEffectiveness in building trust, respect and cooperation among teamsPreferred expert knowledge in Microsoft Azure Cloud data offerings and usage.Required Education:Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science, MIS, or Information ManagementPosting Date:Department:Delivery NDFG -
