Title: Enrolled Agent - Senior Tax Accountant
Location: Gilbert, AZ
Setting: Onsite
Compensation: $75k - $82k (Potential Flex) + Quarterly Bonus + 401k (3% match)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Enrolled Agent or Tax Accountant to join a growing accounting and tax firm in the East Valley/Phoenix metro area. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of tax work, developing strong client relationships, and growing with an established firm.
The ideal candidate has a strong tax accounting foundation, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal training. Enrolled Agent certification is preferred, but experienced tax professionals who can step directly into the role will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and estate tax returns
- Assist clients with tax planning, compliance, and more complex tax matters
- Represent clients before the IRS during audits, appeals, and collection matters, when applicable
- Review financial statements and perform balance sheet and account reconciliations to support accurate tax reporting
- Provide clients with guidance regarding tax obligations, financial matters, and planning strategies
- Work within QuickBooks and professional tax preparation software
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with applicable tax and accounting standards
- Develop strong client relationships and provide a high level of service
- Work independently while collaborating with a team-oriented office
Qualifications
- 3+ years of tax accounting experience required
- Strong hands-on tax preparation and compliance experience
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, including general ledger and account reconciliations
- Proficiency with QuickBooks
- Experience with professional tax preparation software preferred
- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred
- CPA or other relevant tax/accounting credentials welcomed
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal training
- Team-oriented mindset with an interest in growing with the firm
