Technology Education InstructorThis position will provide instruction that emphasizes the blending of practical experiences, technical expertise, and academic rigor; and ensure that students complete coursework in general education, professional education, and technology education. The instructor will define the current status of engineering design experiences in engineering and technology education; will build leadership capacity by developing a collaborative network of scholars who work to improve understanding of the process of learning and teaching of engineering design in technology education.Key responsibilities include:Plan a technology education program involving demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and student experiments; organizes activities for optimal learning.Instruct students in the proper use, care and safe handling of equipment.Evaluate academic and social growth of students, prepare report cards, and keep appropriate records as necessary.Provide for safe storage and proper use of materials, equipment and tools.Establish and maintain standards of student behavior for a productive learning environment.Evaluate each student's growth in knowledge and skills in the course being taught.Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress.All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.Key job requirements include:Bachelor's Degree required.Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.Clear renewable certification in Technology Education (P-12) requiredThe salary scales are not yet available.
