Electrical (ECAD) Engineering TechnologistWe are searching for an Electrical (ECAD) Engineering Technologist to join our Mechanical and Electrical Design and Drafting (MEDD) team at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. ARL's purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC). The MEDD Service Center works in collaboration with the ARL Research Offices to create CAD based Mechanical & Electrical Designs including drawing compliance and design Configuration Management support.You will:Facilitate electrical (ECAD) design support through collaboration with R&D Engineers and Engineering Support SpecialistsLead the creation of schematics, printed wiring boards, circuit card assemblies, bills of materials, and other documentation using accepted methods and techniquesUtilize ARL's Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (Teamcenter) to properly archive and perform configuration management of all design documentationFacilitate work intake, estimation, and execution; reporting to senior management as requestedParticipate in, and occasionally lead meetings and design reviewsMaintain all required compliance training related to business systems, safety, and securityRequired skills/experience areas include:Past success utilizing ECAD software to develop schematics, printed wiring boards, circuit card assemblies, library parts, and bill of materialsPast success in leading or supervising teamsWorking knowledge of printed wiring board construction, fabrication, and assemblyPast success with project deliverables and team trackingPreferred skills/experience areas include:Altium ECAD softwareSiemens Teamcenter PLM softwareMicrosoft Office Product Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, VisioSignificant knowledge of electrical systems such as power electronics, analog, digital, RF, and EMIIPC CID and / or CID+ certification, or general knowledge of IPC standardsCurrent eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility, if requiredYour working location is required to be 100% on-site, located in State College, Pennsylvania.

Options may exist for a hybrid work from office and work from home scenario dependent upon research requirements.
