The Engineering Technician III serves as a key personnel role responsible for supporting engineering operations, testing, and equipment handling. This position requires hands-on technical expertise, independent execution of recurring assignments, and the ability to adapt standard procedures to meet project requirements. Work is performed with minimal supervision and is reviewed for technical adequacy and compliance with established guidelines.ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operation & Handling:Operate cranes and rigging equipment in compliance with safety and operational standardsHandle and position equipment for testing and engineering operationsTesting & Experimentation:Conduct vibration and shock testing, including setup and executionPerform tests requiring minor modifications to procedures or configurationsOperate standard and specialized test equipment and accurately record resultsTechnical Support & Troubleshooting:Construct components, subunits, or simple modelsTroubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctionsAdapt standard equipment or procedures to meet project requirementsData Collection & Analysis:Collect, process, and analyze engineering and test dataIdentify inconsistencies, errors, or gaps in data and resolve themPrepare data presentations, reports, and documentationEngineering Assistance:Support design modifications by compiling relevant technical dataReview field notes, manuals, and lab reports to extract actionable insightsContribute to identifying prior failures and recommending improvementsDocumentation & Compliance:Follow engineering diagrams, layouts, and specificationsEnsure all work meets technical standards and contractual requirementsQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Three (3) years of relevant experience in:Operating a CAT-III craneRigging gear handlingConducting vibration and/or shock testingDesired Qualifications:Experience operating:Linear Bi-Axial Impact MachineMedium Weight Shock MachineExperience with acceleration data collection and analysis*Position is contingent upon award.Location: Newport, Rhode Island, United States To know more about the company, visit Stahl Companies (stahlusa.us)
