Engineering Tech WriterSecret Clearance Must have experience with Engineering or equipment repair or installations in complex equipment, ideally aircraft repair or assembly. The successful candidates will join our high-performing team in developing technical manual content for advanced Ground/Air Task-Oriented Radar military systems.

Responsibilities include writing, rewriting, and developing technical manual content such as Operating Procedures, Maintenance procedures, Troubleshooting procedures, Preventive Maintenance, to communicate clearly and effectively technical information and instructions to the military end-user. Oversee development of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts. Conduct quality review of materials. Author and publish materials in electronic (basic and interactive), structured (HTML, XML, and SGML). Collaborate with task leads, writers, engineers, and instructors, to develop and deliver technical manuals to varying levels of details. Research and compile information from program documents, engineering sources, et al. to develop manual outlines and adhere to military specifications and standards of technical writing. Perform other duties as assigned.Job Qualifications: Successful candidates will have excellent communications and interpersonal skills, be proactive, possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, and be self-motivated.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline or related fieldMilitary operations and maintenance experience with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks and information technology-based sensors/systemsProven mechanical aptitude demonstrated by job experience required for grasping the maintenance part of the technical manualsAbility to comprehend military specifications (experience with MIL-STD-40051 a plus)Proficiency with MS Office ProductsProficiency with Adobe AcrobatExperience tagging XML documentsMinimum of 2 years' technical writing experience with structured authoring applications, such as Arbortext, and/or IADS viewer or other XML authoring software toolsExperience using Confluence/JIRAProven ability to manage several tasks simultaneouslyExcellent attention to detail and good organizational skillsPossess and maintain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearanceSelf-starter and engaged team memberPreferred Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years' technical writing experience with structured authoring applications, such as Arbortext, and/or IADS viewer, or other XML authoring software toolsKnowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE 100)Expert knowledge of standards – XML, SGML, HTML, S1000D and DITA for structured ContentPossess and maintain DoD Secret clearanceSelf-starter and engaged team member
