The Engineering Team Lead – HPU is responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) solution while providing day-to-day technical leadership to a team of engineers and designers. This role provides engineering expertise, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high quality, cost-effective hydraulic systems that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.

Your key accountabilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs) including system architecture, schematics, layouts, and component selection
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for HPU systems, hydraulics, and related standards
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, BOMs, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Ensure designs meet customer specifications, safety standards, industry codes, and internal engineering guidelines
  • Support root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions related to HPU performance, quality, or field issues
  • Lead engineering execution for HPU projects from concept through production release
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure design for manufacturability, quality, and serviceability.
  • Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and project milestones
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g. ISO, ANSI, NFPA, customer-specific requirements)
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, change management, and revision control
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within department process
  • Attend training sessions regularly to continue professional growth and development

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, with significant hands-on experience with hydraulic systems or HPUs
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic system design, component selection, and performance analysis
  • Proficiency with CAD and engineering tools (CREO experience preferred)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
