Engineering Support SpecialistGalapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Engineering Support Specialist to join our team in support of the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron at Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, United Kingdom. This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineering, construction, and facilities professionals delivering mission-critical infrastructure projects that directly support U.S. Air Force operations.In this role, you will provide Title II engineering and construction support for Military Construction (MILCON) and Facilities Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (FSRM) projects.

Responsibilities include conducting technical construction observations, performing quality assurance assessments and data analysis, reviewing contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) and technical submittals, and providing engineering support throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with Government project managers, engineers, and contractors to help ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved designs, contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable U.S. Air Force and host-nation regulations.Key Responsibilities:Conduct on-site construction observations with Government Project Managers and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to verify work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and quality standardsPrepare weekly activity reports, quality assurance documentation, site observation reports, technical memorandums, and other project records that accurately document construction progress, findings, and recommendationsReview contractor Requests for Information (RFIs), technical submittals, engineering drawings, specifications, and design calculations, providing technical assessments and recommendations for Government reviewIdentify constructibility issues, field deviations, quality deficiencies, safety concerns, schedule impacts, and potential noncompliance with U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD), and United Kingdom regulations and standardsConduct facility surveys and condition assessments, documenting structural, architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical observations to support project planning, execution, and quality assuranceSupport project planning activities by assisting with project scoping, development of Statements of Work (SOWs), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), project closeout documentation, and technical hand offs throughout the project life cycleMaintain project documentation, including RFI logs, submittal registers, project trackers, deliverable files, and other Government-required records to ensure accurate project tracking and reportingCoordinate with Government engineers, architects, planners, contracting personnel, contractors, and host-nation stakeholders to facilitate project execution and resolve technical issuesSupport quality assurance and construction management efforts to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirementsProvide technical support throughout planning, design, construction, and project closeout while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, professionalism, and customer serviceRequirementsSkills and Experience:7+ years of professional experience supporting construction, engineering, facilities, or Military Construction (MILCON) projectsDemonstrated experience conducting construction observations, quality assurance inspections, technical evaluations, and project documentationExperience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, design calculations, contractor submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs) for technical accuracy and contract complianceKnowledge of Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Air Force (USAF), Military Construction (MILCON), and Facilities Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (FSRM) programs and processesWorking knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical engineering principles, construction methods, materials, and industry best practicesKnowledge of applicable construction standards, quality assurance practices, health and safety requirements, and federal, host-nation, and local building codes and regulationsExperience using project management and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or comparable toolsAbility to work full-time on-site at Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, United KingdomAbility to obtain and maintain all required installation access, security vetting, Common Access Card (CAC), NIPRNet access, and other required site credentialsEducation and Certifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related fieldA valid CSCS card or equivalent is required at start of site work or must be obtained within the first 30 days on siteCertified Construction Manager, Project Management Professional, PRINCE2, or a relevant UK-equivalent credentialBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, disability, and life insuranceFlexible Spending Accounts401(k)PTOPaid Parental LeaveTuition reimbursementPaid federal holidaysSecurity Clearance:Must be a U.S. Citizen.
