Design Engineering Supervisor – Fluid Motion Control ProductsThe Design Engineering Supervisor – Fluid Motion Control Products is responsible for leading and supervising the design engineering functions for actuators, valves, pumps, and switch technologies at ITT Aerospace Control's Valencia site. This role provides both technical leadership and people management, ensuring alignment with business objectives, product strategy, and engineering excellence.The position plays a critical role in developing engineering talent, driving product innovation through technical roadmap execution, and ensuring adherence to established engineering processes and standards.Essential ResponsibilitiesLeadership & People ManagementSupervise and lead a team of design engineers, providing direction, coaching, and mentorshipDrive talent development through training, career planning, and succession planning initiativesConduct performance management, including goal setting, feedback, and performance evaluationsFoster a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable team environmentTechnical Leadership & Product DevelopmentGuide design engineering activities for actuator, valve, pump, and switch product linesContribute to the development and execution of product technology roadmapsEnsure designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost objectivesProvide technical oversight and decision-making support across development programsEngineering Process & ComplianceEnforce adherence to engineering processes, standards, and proceduresEnsure accountability for design quality, documentation, and validation practicesDrive continuous improvement in engineering workflows, tools, and best practiceBusiness Support & StrategySupport business development efforts including proposal development and technical inputCollaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, project, and quality teamsContribute to strategic planning initiatives related to product development and market growthProgram ExecutionEnsure design deliverables are completed on time and within scopeIdentify and mitigate technical risks across projectsSupport successful transition of products from development into productionPosition RequirementsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related discipline is required7+ years of engineering experience, plus a minimum of 2 years of previous supervisory experienceProven experience in design engineering with actuation, valve, pump, or switch technologiesExperience working within aerospace and defense industries, or other highly regulated industriesFamiliarity with standards such as AS9100, ISO-9001, or APQPDemonstrated leadership or supervisory experience managing engineering teamsStrong knowledge of actuators, valves, pumps, switches, or similar technologiesExperience with product development processes, from concept through productionExcellent communication, organizational, problem-solving skills, and emotional intelligenceExperience with leadership and team developmentDemonstrated strategic thinking and product roadmap development capabilitiesProcess discipline and continuous improvement mindsetCross-functional collaboration and business acumenThis position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
