Overview
Laciny Bros., Inc. is a family‑owned custom fabrication company that offers a fast‑paced, rewarding work environment that fosters creativity, teamwork, and high‑end craftsmanship. We are seeking a full‑time Purchasing Manager to join our team and play a key role in sourcing and procurement.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials, working with Design Engineers, Controls Engineers, Operations, Finance, and other departments.
- Interface with engineering, operations, management, and other stakeholders on a daily basis to communicate job status and understand needs and priorities.
- Alert the team to deviations from established plans and champion issue resolution.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business, customer, vendor, and contractor/technician relationships.
- Manage supplier relations and negotiate prices where applicable.
- Research and evaluate procurement opportunities and prospective suppliers using industry expertise and relationships.
- Ensure all procured items meet required quality standards and specifications.
- Work with all project managers to ensure necessary raw materials are being procured in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
- Stay informed on new suppliers, materials, manufacturing methods, supply chain management practices, strategic sourcing methodology, and techniques.
- Develop and employ effective negotiation techniques, including market knowledge, to secure the best value possible on new materials and components.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including controlling and updating Job Management Software, help with AR/AP, and other office tasks.
- Assign general ledger codes and enter accounts payable, checking that all AP are accurately entered against the correct ledger codes.
Skill Requirements
- Organizational skills and ability to switch quickly from one task to another.
- Firm understanding of non‑corporate, family business culture.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication/manufacturing/automation.
- Experience in sourcing, manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain.
- Ability to develop and maintain vendor relationships.
- Understanding of common materials and coatings used for component design.
- Knowledge of common fabrication processes used to produce parts.
- Highly developed interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong sense of ambition, self‑motivation, and self‑discipline.
- Strong attention to detail in a highly nuanced and niche industry.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiating skills.

Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum).
- Experience in manufacturing and/or industrial applications is preferred.
- 5+ years of work experience preferred.
