Coordinates with internaland externalprojectstakeholders, as needed, throughoutthedesign and development process,including the transition to production.Performsand/orcoordinates the design,execution,and documentation of experiments and testprotocolstoverifythatdesigns of products or subsystemsmeetinputrequirementsand to validatethattheproduct or subsystem meetstheintended use.Coordinatesand reviewstheselection of prototypingapproachesand methodstoproducecomponents or subsystems to bestmeetoverall projectneeds and milestones; such as fortesting,evaluation fortoolingrelease,tradeshows, etc.Reviewsrecommendationsfromprojectstaffregarding manufacturingmethodsand supplierselection based on projectneeds and requirements as well as company standards.Directsand coordinatesprototype or pilot-run procurement activitiesbothwithin engineering and with otherstakeholderssuch as purchasing and operations.Writes and/orreviewsandapprovesdocumentation ofdevelopmentactivitiesconsistent with formalQualitySystems;including definition of productrequirements,projectplanning,designoutput(production drawings,bills of materials,procedures,specifications,inspection criteria, ),design review,design verification and validation,control of design changes,and risk analysis.Tracks and controlsexpenditureswithin limitation of project budget.
