Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager to lead complex hardware and product development initiatives from concept through production. This role will partner with engineering, operations, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and external stakeholders to drive successful execution of strategic programs. This is a fulltime opportunity , and the right candidate must be onsite 5 days a week in Saratoga, CA .
Responsibilities
- Leading end-to-end product development programs from initial concept, design, validation, and manufacturing through production release.
- Coordinating cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and external partners to ensure project success.
- Managing project schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, deliverables, and issue resolution activities across multiple workstreams.
- Facilitating technical reviews, status meetings, and executive updates while ensuring accountability for action items and program objectives.
- Collaborating closely with hardware, software, systems, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and packaging engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Managing supplier, vendor, and manufacturing partner relationships to support development, production readiness, and product launch activities.
- Identifying and mitigating program risks while balancing schedule, quality, cost, and performance objectives.
- Supporting prototype builds, validation efforts, manufacturing readiness reviews, and production ramp initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years of Engineering Program Management experience within high‑tech, telecommunications, networking, electronics, energy, or related industries.
- Proven experience managing full product lifecycle development for complex hardware, embedded systems, networking products, power electronics, or electromechanical solutions.
- Strong proficiency with project and program management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with global engineering teams, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and external development partners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, manage competing priorities, mitigate risks, and drive programs to successful completion.
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- PMP certification or equivalent project/program management training is preferred.
- Experience within startups or rapidly scaling technology organizations is highly desirable.
Compensation
- Salary range: $210,000 - $250,000
