Our goal is to produce the next generation of innovators and engineers who will help America retain its position as a global leader in innovation and technology.Position OverviewThis position will co-instruct a classroom of 20-30 students from 6th to 8th grade to teach about STEM through the completion of hands-on engineering projects in an in-person environment.ResponsibilitiesTeach basic engineering principles using a project-based learning curriculum to elementary and high school studentsDesign and construct multiple STEM projects and learn the STEM concepts behind how they project worksPrepare and submit weekly lesson plans to your managerPrepare project materials and transport them to/from the Project SYNCERE office as well as to program sitesAdminister, collect, and/or submit program location paperwork, photos, and attendance by specified deadlinesMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in training sessionsAbility to work with Google Platforms and Zoom Platforms10-15 hours based on program availabilityRequirementsRequired Education and ExperiencePursuing at least a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, math, or a science disciplineBasic knowledge of engineering fields and principlesPrevious work with elementary and/or high school students is preferredMust display sophisticated writing and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaborativelyAbility to instruct in a Hybrid/virtual learning environmentAbility to problem solve, analyze information, and demonstrate professionalismTransportation is a plusRequired CompetenciesAvailable in person during the school year.Monday-Friday during the summerAbility to work independently as well as collaborativelyAbility to multitask and prioritize effectively to meet deadlinesAbility to problem solve, analyze information, and demonstrate professionalismExcellent organizational skillsProfessional writing experience preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, & Word and Google Suite Applications: Classroom, Docs, Slides, Sheets & DriveTime management, Patience, Creativity, and Interpersonal skillsAdditional Information:HybridMeetings (Company and Departmental)Growth opportunity and increased part-time hours
