Engineering Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing (Special Processes)We are seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. This role will oversee engineering activities related to special processes including thermal spray, chemical processing, and advanced coatings.The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, leadership, and operational excellence to drive process improvements, ensure compliance, and support business growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing, process, and quality engineersSet clear goals, performance expectations, and development plansFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaborationEngineering & OperationsOversee engineering support for production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and on-time deliveryDrive process optimization initiatives across: thermal spray, chemical processing (plating, anodizing, passivation), coating technologiesCollaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve technical challengesCompliance & StandardsEnsure engineering processes align with Nadcap, ISO 9001, AS9100Support and lead customer, regulatory, and third-party auditsEnsure proper documentation, process validation, and certification complianceContinuous Improvement & StrategyLead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiativesImplement data-driven improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle timesDrive CAPEX projects, including new equipment, automation, and process upgradesAlign engineering strategy with overall business goalsNew Product Introduction (NPI)Support quoting, feasibility, and process development for new programsEnsure smooth transition from development to productionReview and approve engineering documentation, work instructions, and process flowsCustomer & Supplier InteractionServe as a technical point of contact for customersSupport customer audits and technical reviewsOversee supplier technical performance and qualificationsQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, or related field)10+ years of engineering experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing3+ years of leadership or management experienceStrong background in special processes (thermal spray, chemical processing, coatings)Experience with aerospace quality systems and auditsPreferredExperience with Nadcap accreditation and auditsSix Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) or Lean certificationStrong knowledge of process validation and control plansFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systemsKey SkillsLeadership and team developmentStrategic thinking and executionStrong problem-solving and decision-makingExcellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to operate in a fast-paced, high-compliance environmentCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary (based on experience)Performance-based bonusesHealth, dental, vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidays
