Engineering Manager – Oil & GasFarnsworth Group is seeking an Engineering Manager – Oil & Gas in the Charlotte, North Carolina location. In this role you will enjoy working with clients in the oil and natural gas industry on a wide variety of projects involving refined petroleum products, crude oil and natural gas pipelines and related facilities. Candidates will experience a fast paced, high demand work environment, managing multiple projects for a variety of clients, coordinating efforts with multiple disciplines and support resources, and managing staff.What You'll Do:Provide technical leadership and project management on various sizes of projects that could span both gas and liquid clients. Projects will involve both mainline pipe and facilitiesAbility to lead multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate efforts with support groups ensuring a quality on-time product for our client, and a financially successful projectProvide technical support as part of an engineering team on large/complex projects as neededProject development - provide technical support for the development of projects (conceptual through final design)Determines personnel needed with most appropriate individual qualifications and prepares manpower and cost estimates of location as required.Ensures the quality, accuracy, and completeness of the office's work as to engineering, design, and drafting quality; compliance with established standards, procedures, codes and ordinances; adherence to design and project schedules; and provides adequate training, technical and administrative guidance, and instruction to personnel within the location.Manages and supervises various personnel functions, including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, salary recommendations, and employee developmentSupport the management of the office including annual location budgets and associated expenses. Collaborate with the team to organize and lead office events within the approved budget.Lead and/or support proposal efforts being able to work with multiple disciplines and subcontractors for developing scope and competitive pricingActively participates in business development efforts and assists the section manager in development and implementation of the department business plan.Expand on relationships and workload with current clients and support efforts as needed for pursuit of new clientsPrepares and/or reviews and executes agreements for professional servicesWhat You'll Need:BS in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Petroleum Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum15+ years of experience, including engineering management experience, in the oil, natural gas, or related industryMinimum of 5-10 years performing project work as a project manager with a firm understanding and experience in applying project management tools and best practicesHighly motivated self-starterGeneral understanding of and able to interpret and apply DOT, API, ANSI, ASME and owner regulations, codes and standardsComputer proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS ProjectMust be willing to travel and have a valid driver's licenseNice To Haves:Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), requiredProfessional Project Manager (PMP) a plusAbility to supervise and direct work of othersAbility to work on several multi?discipline projects simultaneouslyAbility to develop business and work with clientsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to positively influence others and develop strong internal and external relationshipsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues on multiple projectsStrong team skills complemented with a strong work ethicSupervisory experience a plusWho We Are:Join Farnsworth Group, a nationally recognized architectural, engineering, and surveying firm, where your career can thrive!
