More than 14,000 employees in 20 countries want to change the world together with you.Main TasksTake the lead in engineering activities in order to obtain optimum productivity and quality levels while complying with customer specifications.Responsible for the overall development and administration of the Engineering Process.Coach and develop engineering team membersEstablish and review process controls, emphasize continuous improvement and improve productivity through waste reduction.Responsible for achieving product target cost, improved efficiency, identifying possible production problems for existing products.As a part of the plant leadership team, the Engineering Manager will be involved, process flows, labor and machine standards.All proposed plans for changes to the process, equipment, molds, and tooling are to be reviewed by the Engineering Manager to ensure reliability and compatibility with existing Grammer standards/systemsSupport multiple projects and work with the plant to maintain third party registration to ISO/IATF standards.Support product launch strategyReview equipment and process design and make recommendationsDevelop workflow, effective layout and optimize processesAssist in quoting and contracting tool sources to build support toolingEvaluate and implement process/product improvementsWork with the team to develop tooling and poke yoke methodsAssist with training of both technical and production in processing standardsDevelops short- and long-term strategy to support customer requirementsAuthorizes engineering change notices (deviations), process alerts, purchase orders, equipment spare parts inventory, and personnel training requestsSupports plant safety rulesApproves department expenses and appropriations requirementsQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred5+ years of experience in Automotive industry preferredAPQP Process understanding (FMEA, Control Plan, etc).Lean Manufacturing experience preferredExperience leading continuous improvement projects/KaizensDemonstrated management skillsAble to perform problem solving and root cause analysis.Excellent written and verbal presentation skillsA self-starting, goal-oriented, customer-focused individual who takes personal accountability and is driven by the achievement of the business unit's vision and objectives in accordance with the Company's Leadership ValuesAble to delegate responsibilities; objectively evaluates the performance of direct reports; and able to hold others accountable in a constructive mannerStrong leadership and facilitation skills coupled with the ability to remain rational and in control when confronted with difficult circumstances or crisesWhat Can You Expect From Us?The well-being of our employees is our top priority.
