- Provide functional leadership and technical direction to process engineers assigned to value streams, ensuring alignment to standardized methods, equipment strategies, and long-term manufacturing objectives.
- Drive localization, installation, and validation efforts for new HVAC control products, electronic assemblies, mechanical damper assemblies, and related production equipment, ensuring readiness for volume manufacturing.
- Own facility, equipment, and reliability strategy, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs, lifecycle planning, spare parts strategy, and infrastructure readiness to support growth.
- Provide oversight for the creation, accuracy, and maintenance of BOMs, routings, work instructions, and standard work within the ERP/MRP system.
- Partner with Operations to improve manufacturing efficiency through lean principles, line balancing, takt optimization, yield improvement, ergonomics, and waste reduction.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on first-pass yield, defect reduction, test coverage, OEE, and capacity scalability.
- Proactively identify capacity constraints, technical risks, skill gaps, and infrastructure limitations; develop mitigation plans ahead of demand increases.
- Identify, justify, and implement cost savings related to materials, processes, automation, maintenance practices, and facility operations.
- Manage external vendors and contractors, including equipment suppliers, automation integrators, calibration services, and facility service providers.
- Develop and manage departmental operating budgets and capital expenditure plans for automation, test systems, facilities, and capacity expansion.
- Communicate equipment and facility status, repair progress, spare parts availability, and production impacts to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and the ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-growing, high-mix manufacturing environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline required.
- Advanced degree (Master’s/MBA) in Engineering, Operations, or Technology preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience in electronics and mechanical assembly, preferably within HVAC controls, industrial controls, or high-mix, low-to-mid volume production.
- 3+ years in a leadership or technical management role, with demonstrated experience managing direct reports.
- Leadership over engineers or technical staff in a Matrix structure is a plus.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, including BOMs, routings, and production master data, with the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.
Certifications
None required. Lean Six Sigma, Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP),
and/or Facility Management Professional (FMP) is a plus.
