Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced structural engineering professional to oversee engineering and drafting activities, manage project execution, and mentor engineering staff. This role focuses heavily on precast and prestressed concrete design, including specialty structures, connections, lifting analysis, and field engineering support.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day engineering and drafting activities to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Oversee life safety, civil, and structural designs for buildings, piles, trenches, duct banks, and specialty precast products.
• Review precast designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Perform or oversee lifting, handling, and erection stability analysis.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and design revisions throughout project execution.
• Provide technical support to operations, quality, fabrication, and field teams.
• Develop engineering standards, calculation spreadsheets, and design tools.
• Coordinate outsourced engineering designs and review them for compliance.
• Train and mentor engineers, interns, and detailers.

Ideal Background

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience.
• Meaningful experience with precast or prestressed concrete design.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Previous leadership, project management, or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of PCI standards, ACI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and AWS D1.1.
• Experience with structural design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, Tekla, RISA, RAM Structural, or comparable platforms.
• Knowledge of connection design, load paths, erection stability, and underground structures.
