Job Duties
The following duties are part of the job:
- Operates heavy equipment including but not limited to mobile cranes, truck/trailer combinations, dump trucks, wheel loaders, skid steers, agricultural tractors, excavators, and dozers.
- Operates mobile and/or crawler cranes up to 50 ton with attachments.
- Guards against overturning equipment when working on edges of embankments. Operation of equipment requires coordination of controls governing motive power of equipment plus controls operating attachments.
- The work will involve routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing the full range of systems on the vehicles or equipment.
- Performs welding, both acetylene and electric, as needed in the repair of vehicles, trailers, tractors, hitches and various other items of equipment and materials utilized in the maintenance of project areas.
- Operate and navigate support boats and towboats (65 feet and under) on the Missouri River.
