Opportunity Overview
Join as an Engineer‑Level 4 (Substation) at Westinghouse Electric Company.
Position is based in Juno Beach, FL with the option to work remotely. This is a 1‑year W‑2 contract assignment.
As the Substation Engineering Leader, you will oversee a team of Substation Engineers from conceptual design through construction and commissioning, reporting to the onsite Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead assigned substation projects from conception to execution.
- Collaborate with Early‑Stage Project Managers to support engineering requirements and scope.
- Secure engineering consulting resources from approved suppliers by developing scope of work, issuing bids, evaluating proposals, and awarding contracts through NEER’s Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Group.
- Coordinate with project team members to develop and secure a substation site, supporting engineering updates, data, and permits.
- Competitively source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.
- Represent E&C’s internal and external interests, presenting progress, issues, and risk mitigation in meetings with management.
- Support Transmission Services during interconnection documentation reviews.
- Communicate frequently with transmission owners/operators/ISOs to meet off‑taker requirements.
- Manage long‑lead material orders to minimize risk of delays or budget overruns.
- Assist ISC with substation project SOW creation, approval, and preparation of shopping carts for engineering services and materials.
- Support E&C Estimating with template updates, technical support, and scope modifications.
- Work with project engineering resources on work plans and lines of demarcation.
- Support assigned project commissioning activities to meet corporate goals.
- Collaborate with Legal on regulatory filings, depositions, and hearings.
Qualifications
- At least 15 years of relevant experience.

Base salary range for this position is estimated to be $91.00/hr to $96.00/hr, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills.
