Automation Engineer - Injection Molding
Oxford Solutions is working with a manufacturing client seeking an Automation Engineer with strong injection molding experience. This position will support the design, installation, qualification, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and development of new automation systems
- Coordinate equipment installation, testing, and qualification activities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve existing automation equipment
- Support production start-ups involving automated machinery
- Identify equipment issues and implement corrective actions
- Develop and maintain standard work procedures
- Work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams
- Ensure automation projects follow manufacturing safety requirements
- Review technical drawings and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, automation, manufacturing, or a related field preferred
- Candidates with more than five years of injection molding processing experience may be considered in place of a degree
- 3-5 years of injection molding experience required
- Experience supporting automation equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process-related equipment issues
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices and standard work methods
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
