Our client is seeking to fill an Engagement Manager role with experience in private equity, venture capital, fund administration, or relevant public accounting.
About the Role
The Engagement Manager will oversee client relationships and manage the delivery of fund administration and accounting services for private equity and venture capital funds. You would report to an Engagement Director and supervise more junior team members, including Fund Controllers and Associates.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Stay current on clients' fund activities and manage client expectations.
- Oversee the overall client engagement, including staffing, workflow, utilization, and efficiency.
- Supervise fund accounting, capital account maintenance, and financial statement preparation.
- Oversee and coordinate the audit and tax preparation process.
- Review communications going to clients and investors.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior staff.
- Assist with business development, including helping source clients and prepare proposals.
Qualifications
They are looking for someone with approximately 4–8 years of experience who comes from one of these backgrounds:
- A fund administrator, or
- A public accounting firm with Private Equity/Venture Capital fund clients.
Required Skills
- Direct PE/VC fund accounting experience
- Knowledge of partnership accounting
- Experience managing or supervising staff
- Experience dealing with audits and tax processes
- A CPA, although it is preferred rather than required
