Overview

We are searching for an Energy Storage Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. The ideal candidate would have 3+ Years experience Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction. The person will be supporting design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects. The person will work with diverse teams to solve problems, improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.

Pay Rate: $65.00/hr. + depending on experience.

Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship. Note: No Third-Party or C2C Firms.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.
  • Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.
  • Support projects from inception to completion by working closely with project managers.
  • Influence project teams on engineering tasks.
  • Stay updated on project progress and technical issues.
  • Manage project milestones and recognize risks
  • Collaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment.
  • Work with diverse teams to solve problems, improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.
  • Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure clear communication, and propose solutions
  • Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.
  • Handle other assigned duties as needed.
  • Travel 25% of the time for project specific duties.

Qualifications

  • 3+ Years experience Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction
  • Expertise in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design.
  • Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections)
  • Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730
  • Ability to handle specialized technical tasks independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
