Endoscopy TechnicianResponsibilities:Assists in preparing patients for their procedureWorks with the healthcare team to prepare the endoscopy suite according to requirements of patient, physician, and procedure, assembling and providing properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments.Assists physician during endoscopy procedureCollects and handles patient specimens per policy. Assists the RN in accurately documenting and handling specimens.Reports observed changes in patient condition to nurses and physiciansWorks collaboratively with the endoscopy team to assure high level disinfection and/or sterility of instruments and supplies according to policy and procedureFollows manufacturer's instructions for use for all steps of cleaning, high level disinfection or sterilization for instruments and/or equipmentAppropriately cleans endoscopy suite between cases following centers policy and proceduresAssists with maintaining adequate inventory of suppliesDemonstrates knowledge of and adheres to the Code of ConductComplies with center policies and proceduresDemonstrates an attitude that is caring, respectful, sensitive, and compassionate.Provides a safe environment for the patientCommunicates safety concerns appropriately, following Chain of CommandAssists in ensuring accurate documentation for procedure records and logs.Promotes patient and physician satisfactionPractices appropriate aseptic techniques and sterile processes as appropriate to the endoscopy suiteMaintains flexibility and performs other duties as requiredParticipates in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education as requiredPosition Qualifications:Highschool diploma or GEDAbility to understand, read, write, and speak English.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturer's instructions or instructions for use. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and professionally interact with Physicians managers, employees, patients, vendors, and the general public.Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift, push or pull objects or patients.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages.Ability to multi-task effectively, efficiently, accurately, and with attention to details1 year experience working as an Endoscopy TechnicianSuccessful completion of Basic Life Support provider programThis position requires availability for no less than 2 shifts per month with at least one being a weekend shift (630a-1230p)Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
