Responsibilities
- Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures.
- Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy.
- Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Performs clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy.
- Assembles and maintains patient chart material, records and files; maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation.
- Completes charges for patients.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent. Preferred graduate of GI/OR Technology program or CNA/MA program.
- Previous experience as Unit Secretary preferred or as CNA/MA.
- Current AHA BLS Certification required.
- Previous experience in Endoscopy preferred.
