JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD

Work Shift: PRN position that will be requested to work as needed in the department Monday-Friday with call requirements that include evenings and weekends.

Summary of the Job: Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame. Provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. Supervises the activities of Endoscopy Technicians and Scheduler.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate from a NLN accredited school of nursing.
  • Current LA RN Licensure.
  • Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. ALS, PALS required on hire or obtained within 6 months.
  • Endoscopy, critical care, emergency or strong medical-surgical nursing experience required.

Physical Demands

  • Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
  • Lifting up to 99 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Physical Effort required

  • Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
  • Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching
  • Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.)
