Job Description
We are seeking an Empower Systems Administrator to support a growing GMP-regulated laboratory environment. This individual will serve as a key resource responsible for Empower administration, chromatography system support, GMP documentation management, troubleshooting laboratory systems, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Empower Administrator or a laboratory professional with strong Empower expertise looking to transition into a systems-focused role.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and support the Waters Empower Chromatography Data System (CDS) within a GMP-regulated environment
- Troubleshoot Empower-related issues, instrument connectivity problems, and user support requests
- Support chromatographic instrumentation including HPLC, UPLC, electrophoresis systems, and other Empower-connected laboratory equipment
- Author, revise, and maintain GMP documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, job aids, and system administration procedures
- Collaborate with laboratory, quality, and technical teams to ensure systems remain compliant and operational
- Support instrument lifecycle management activities and release of systems into GMP environments
- Assist with change control, data integrity, and compliance-related assessments
- Investigate system issues and recommend corrective actions
- Participate in daily operational meetings and support ongoing laboratory initiatives
- Ensure documentation and practices align with current regulatory requirements and internal quality standards
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences environment
- Hands-on experience with Waters Empower CDS
- Strong understanding of GMP documentation practices and controlled document management
- Experience troubleshooting Empower systems and chromatography-related laboratory instrumentation
- Knowledge of laboratory workflows and analytical testing environments
- Background supporting HPLC and UPLC systems
- Familiarity with chromatography laboratory operations
- Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements and electronic data compliance
- Understanding of GMP data integrity principles
