A nationally recognized plaintiff-side employment law firm in California is seeking an experienced Senior Employment Attorney to join its high-performing litigation team. This role is designed for a seasoned litigator who is ready for meaningful responsibility and hands-on courtroom work. Attorneys in this position take an active role in shaping litigation strategy, lead and defend high-stakes depositions, and serve as first- or second-chair at trial when appropriate. You will manage a strategic docket with substantial autonomy while working alongside experienced trial attorneys and a well-resourced support team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial briefs
- Take and defend depositions
- Appear in court to argue motions and advocate on behalf of clients
- Communicate directly with clients and contribute to overall case strategy
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
- Assist with trial preparation and serve as second chair as needed
Qualifications:
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
- Minimum of three (3) years of plaintiff-side employment litigation experience
- Deposition experience required; trial experience strongly preferred
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage cases independently, lead litigation strategy, and mentor junior attorneys
- Base salary range: $150,000–$200,000 , based on experience
- Performance-based commissions up to 3.5%
