The Employer Specialist is responsible for making the connection(s) to employment opportunities that match our participants' knowledge, skills, abilities, and interest. This position is responsible for creating new opportunities for employment in addition to supporting retention in collaboration with the Case Manager or Retention Specialist. This position will report out of our Brooklyn Office.Salary: $32.96 - $34.62 per hourEssential Duties:Establish and maintain relationships with business representatives in the warehouse, food service, janitorial, and construction industries to promote Osborne's participants with employment opportunitiesDevelop specific opportunities that match the skill sets, work experience, training/certification and vocational interests of Osborne's participantsCollect data from employers related to job orders, including a description of the position, minimum qualifications, salary ranges and scheduling infoPre-screen and vet candidates on behalf of the employersConduct necessary follow-up with the employers when applicants are placed in positions to determine skills and training requirements for advancementsWork with Career Coaches to develop training opportunities to increase participants skillsEnter and maintain employer information, employer satisfaction, and placement verification data in the Salesforce databaseKeep abreast with current labor market trends and labor market information by researching, attending meetings, maintaining contacts with various trade schools and professional community organizations that are involved in job placement, and participating in training activities, particularly within Osborne Association's target industriesAttend assigned trainingIn-person collaboration is an essential function of the jobPerform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalencyMinimum three years of sales experience and/or placement experience in either the public or nonprofit sector, or comparable recruiting experience for a corporationMinimum one year of experience in job development for justice-involved individualsKey Competencies:Knowledge of the New York City labor market trends, with expertise in the warehouse, janitorial, food service, construction, or related industries.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, pay strong attention to detail, and time management skillsAbility to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functionsAbility to take the initiative and drive for resultsAbility to travel locallyAbility to communicate with all levels of the organization and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersGenerous benefits include four weeks of vacation, tuition reimbursement, a flexible work schedule, excellent Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, and a 403(b) plan with a company match.
