An established veterinary hospital in Wilder, Kentucky is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join its growing emergency and advanced-care team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality emergency and critical veterinary care

  • Triage and stabilise patients presenting with acute illness, trauma, and other urgent conditions

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations

  • Develop appropriate emergency treatment and hospitalisation plans

  • Interpret laboratory results and diagnostic imaging

  • Perform emergency procedures and surgery where clinically appropriate

  • Monitor hospitalised patients and adjust treatment plans as required

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners during emergency situations

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records

  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other clinicians on complex cases

  • Provide compassionate end-of-life care when appropriate

  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative clinical environment

Candidate Profile

Applicants should hold a DVM or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited institution and hold, or be eligible to obtain, an active Kentucky veterinary licence .

Candidates should also hold or be able to obtain any additional professional registrations required for the position.

Previous emergency or urgent care experience is beneficial but not essential. New graduate veterinarians with a strong interest in emergency medicine are encouraged to apply , with mentorship available to support the transition into emergency practice.
